Immersive: gadget, strategic tool or true revolution?

Thursday 26 March 2026 | 10:30 - Soufflot pitch room
Everyone is talking about "immersive"... but what does the term actually mean for your institutions and your audiences? Exhibitions, shows, VR films: how can we turn technology into a genuine lever for mediation, accessibility, and engagement?
Three experts compare their practices: Visionr Agency, specialists in 360° film to make inaccessible environments perceptible and raise awareness differently; MUSE+, which distributes museum exhibitions both on-site and "beyond the walls" via streaming and VR to broaden audiences; and Escalenta, which designs immersive scenographic devices where the experience becomes collective and sensory.
Immersion is more than just a spectacular effect: it is a gateway to an era, an environment, or a universe. It can provide access to underserved audiences, extend the experience beyond physical walls, and give a second life to cultural content. A sustainable cultural revolution... or just a marketing gimmick? You be the judge.
