Accessibility & health rules

The HEALTH PASS

The health pass (“pass sanitaire” in French) arrived in France on 9 June and then in Europe on 1 July. From 21 July, the health pass must be shown in leisure and cultural venues accommodating over 50 people. From August 2021, it will be extended to other venues (cafés, restaurants, cinemas, etc.). This extension will be incorporated into draft legislation and submitted to parliament.

It’s a document certifying that a person has either been vaccinated, tested negative for COVID-19 or recovered from the illness. It’s your own personal key for entry to trade shows and fairs and it also allows travellers to circulate more easily within the EU.

It conforms to the “Digital Green Certificate” or the “EU Digital COVID Certificate” proposed by the European Commission in March 2021.

  • Evidence of COVID vaccination (either digital – via the TousAntiCovid app – or on paper)
  • Evidence of a negative PCR or rapid antigen test within the last 48 hours
  • Certificate of recovery. A positive RT-PCR or rapid antigen test result confirming that you have recovered from COVID-19, dated at least 15 days but no more than 6 months ago.

The health pass can be presented in digital format (via a QR code obtained from the TousAntiCovid app, that you can download here) or on paper (provided by the test or vaccination provider).

Since 27 May, all those who have been vaccinated can also download their certificate of vaccination on the Assurance Maladie (health insurance) “patient portal”. The QR code shown on this page enables you to import and store results in the TousAntiCovid app.

Results for PCR and antigen tests can also be obtained from the SI-DEP portal (COVID test tracking system) and imported into the TousAntiCovid app.

EU and Schengen

For travel to France and Paris, the simplest solution is to be vaccinated*: once you’ve received your certificate, this health pass will enable you to make the most of your stay for as long as you wish.

*only vaccines authorised by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) are acceptable, i.e. Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.

Outside of the EU

If you are coming to France from a country outside of the European area*, other than Australia, South Korea, Israel, Japan, New Zealand and Singapore, your entry will be strictly regulated. If you’re travelling from another country and you don’t want to miss the latest SITEM trade show, you can come to France under certain circumstances. For the latest recommendations, click here
