Independent sound creation: a different scale, a different set of requirements

Thursday 26 March 2026 | 13:30 - Soufflot pitch room
Two producers offer a comparative look at what distinguishes independent sound creation studios from more industrialized production models. Their organizations advocate for a "boutique" approach: a limited number of projects, direct involvement from the founders, original writing, and creations specifically tailored to each project and location.
Sound is not merely an information medium but a sensory material capable of revealing architecture, enhancing scenography, or transforming a visit into an immersive experience. This bespoke approach involves on-site location scouting, specific field recordings, precise voice casting, and mixing adapted to specific broadcast and listening conditions.
Choosing an independent studio means choosing a strong identity, close editorial collaboration, and a model that supports skilled cultural employment. This session will be punctuated by moments of immersive listening a sonic breathing space amidst the hustle and bustle of the trade fair.
