Enhancing the Museum Experience Through Light

Workshop presented by the Cluster Lumière of Lyon in collaboration with ERCO Lighting Enhancing the Museum Experience Through Light Displaying artworks requires special care in lighting. In this workshop, we will explore new possibilities for showcasing art through recent developments in lighting technologies. Beyond the reduction in energy consumption made possible by high-efficiency light sources and the advantages of source miniaturization, we will highlight the value of adjusting light spectra according to the type, condition, and nature of collections and individual works. The use of multichip LED sources offers significant potential in this regard. The workshop will include various examples of color tone control and present findings from a 2022 Masterclass on colorimetric adjustments designed to enhance the appearance of deteriorated works.
