Immersive experiences: from the permanent route to the temporary exhibition, how the Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans attracts new audiences and increases its notoriety with the HistoPad

Wednesday 03 April 2024 | 09:30
Histovery invites you to talk about immersive experiences, presenting how augmented visits can enhance an institution's permanent visitor trail and enable travelling Augmented Exhibitions to contribute to its outreach beyond its walls.

Since July 2020, the Saline Royale d'Arc-et-Senans has included the HistoPad in its visitor programme. This immersive and interactive mediation device allows visitors to discover the industrial past of the saltworks and relive the history of this unique monument.

In 2024, in addition to its permanent exhibition, the Royal Saltworks will also be hosting a temporary exhibition, Notre-Dame de Paris, l'Exposition Augmentée (Notre-Dame of Paris, the Augmented Exhibition) which, again using the HistoPad, will plunge visitors into the 850-year history of the cathedral, from its construction in the Middle Ages to the reconstruction work underway today.

Revealing the vanished past, opening the doors to inaccessible places, creating a unique immersive and interactive experience, obtaining a database of visitor behaviour and engaging in a digital dialogue with them after the visit: these are just some of the ways in which cultural sites can boost their reputation, attract new audiences and export their brand.
