Showcasing Your Heritage Collections: Where to Begin ?

Workshop presented by Arkhênum with the Musée Guimet and the Musée de Bretagne Through the experience of the Musée Guimet, this session will explore how conducting an audit of museum collections can provide a comprehensive overview of heritage assets and support informed decision-making. The Musée de Bretagne’s case study will illustrate the steps involved in preservation and enhancement efforts, particularly through large-scale collection inventories and heritage digitization projects—focused here on a photographic archive of more than 500,000 items. This workshop aims to foster a dialogue between cultural institutions and service providers to better understand the key challenges and essential steps involved in building a successful heritage valorization strategy.
