Workshop presented by Augures Lab with the Ministry of Culture, the Musée d'Orsay and Musée de l'Orangerie, and the Centre National des Arts Plastiques
As cultural digital use has accelerated since the lockdown, calls for sobriety urge us to reassess the technological innovation strategies of museums: digital currently represents 3 to 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), and the annual growth in digital consumption (data volume, devices, etc.) should raise concerns given the natural resources it consumes.
How can museum professionals respond collaboratively to this central question: What thoughtful approach to digital should be implemented to meet the challenges of the cultural sector during our social and environmental transitions?
