From forgotten drawing to interactive experience: bringing the Turenne Cenotaph back to life in a video game
Tuesday 25 March 2025 | 14:45 - Soufflot pitch room

The archives are full of little-known treasures, some of which have never seen the light of day except on paper. This is the case of the Cénotaphe de Turenne, a visionary architecture by Étienne-Louis Boullée, whose drawings are preserved at the BnF.
Today, thanks to a collaboration between the BnF, NADK and ISART Digital, these sketches take on a new dimension through video games. By combining heritage and innovation, this project offers a second life to these forgotten drawings, transforming a utopian vision into an immersive interactive experience.
How can a simple drawing become a world to explore? What are the challenges for cultural mediation and the transmission of heritage through video games? We invite you to discover the behind the scenes of this unique adventure, where archives and new technologies meet to reinvent our way of discovering history.
