ICOM FRANCE
Stand : F2
The French section of the International Council of Museums ICOM France currently counts almost 6,200 members (individual and institutional), representing all museums and their professions.
The committee’s function, which is designed to serve the general interest, is focused on providing opportunities for insightful reflection on the cultural policies of museums and the challenges they face.
Thus, the current term of office has chosen to place sustainable development issues at the heart of its priorities, to support and facilitate the ecological transition of all the museums in the network.
In 2025, ICOM France will continue its monthly online debates (Les 52 minutes d’ICOM France), allowing those involved in the sector to present and discuss a professional initiative. It organises ethical debates (3 per year) focused on a contemporary ethical issue, and an annual congress on the issue of funding and resource development. This event will take place on October 3rd at the Château de Versailles.
These meetings, most of which are translated into ICOM’s three official languages, are open to professionals from all over the world, enabling French museum professionals to take centre stage and participate in the major projects undertaken by our organisation on an international level.
