Scenography and olfactory mediation in a heritage site: a methodological approach (the public, the discourse, the building)

Workshop room Iris & Morphée workshop with the Prieuré Saint-Cosme, Demeure de Ronsard, a site of the Conseil Départemental d'Indre-et-Loire Scenography and olfactory mediation in a heritage site: a methodological approach (the public, the discourse, the building) As part of the development of its scenography, the Saint-Cosme Priory wished to integrate the olfactory heritage of everyday life in the Renaissance but also the work of the poet, whose writings are full of scents, smells, flavors. The workshop will present the genesis of the project, its development and the questions raised: olfactory heritage, power of odors, scientific study, olfactory scenario, creation, technical constraints, mediation, reception of the public. We will then discover a magnificent tool for out-of-home mediation, including an olfactory element: which odor is presented, on which supports and for which public? How to awaken the sense of smell and educate our olfactory sense through emotion and language?   Speakers:
