The Integration of Open Content in Cultural Digital Practices

Workshop presented by WIKIMEDIA with the Saint-Raymond Museum, Toulouse Archaeology Museum The distribution of digitized works and documents under open licenses aligns with the fundamental missions of cultural institutions. However, it also requires addressing sometimes unfavorable legal and political contexts. This session will introduce the Culture Libre Label, which rewards such practices, and provide a case study on how to combine professional tools, institutional platforms, and Wikimedia projects within a museum’s documentation system. Speakers:
  • Christelle Molinié – Head of Documentary Resources at the Saint-Raymond Museum, Toulouse Archaeology Museum With a background in documentation and art history, Christelle Molinié has worked for over 20 years in museum documentation. Since 2016, she has been at the Saint-Raymond Museum, Toulouse, where she manages the inventory database and the documentary resources, including archives, library, collections documentation, and photo library.
  • Xavier Cailleau – Cultural Partnerships Manager at Wikimedia France Xavier Cailleau joined Wikimedia France in 2016 to focus on the association’s institutional relations. Since 2018, he has been working on developing partnerships with cultural institutions and fostering a GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums) network around Wikimedia projects.
