The Martell Foundation in Cognac, a cultural and creative ecosystem with far-reaching ambitions

The company’s Martell Foundation was launched in October 2016 and has been led since 1 January 2017 by Nathalie Viot. It has evolved a multi-disciplinary programme that lays the emphasis on local, national and international collaboration. The Foundation is a cultural and creative ecosystem and aims to reflect the diversity of contemporary creativity and to be a window onto outstanding talents and skills.

It aims to be curious, open and cross-cultural, offering new experiences in terms of artistic production, research and mediation between complementary spheres (art, design, architecture, craftsmanship, fragrance, digital production, dance, literature, music, etc.) by using exhibitions, workshops, a living-lab, events, in-residence programmes, and more.

The ambition of this new centre for creativity and innovation, firmly rooted in its environment, is to be a driver of growth, development and sustainable promotion of the town of Cognac, the departments of Charente and Charente-Maritime and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
