Work on renewing the Musée Carnavalet

The renovation of the Musée Carnavalet-Histoire de Paris aims to strengthen and promote its identity and its influence. More specifically, it is targeting three objectives:

-To restore, repair and protect the historic building: to bring it up to the standards required by preventive conservation, safety and security, to draw up and implement a dynamic management strategy for its spaces, its public and its collections, and to do this with an eye to streamlining its activities and services,

-To propose new ways of presenting the collection as a whole: that is, to generate links between its actions and methods, to take account of the available spaces, contexts and scales and to present periods, memories and histories in a more balanced way,

-To put into effect an innovative cultural offer: adapting and renewing the offer and its services in order to meet needs and changes in the practices and habits of all types of public.
