Visits to temporary exhibitions: presentations and practices in the field of cultural heritage.
Survey conducted in collaboration with Ifop’s (French institute of public opinion) Opinion and Business Strategies department.

The aim of this conference is to present the early results of the research programme that was begun in 2017 into the place of temporary exhibitions in presentations relating to cultural practices. In a context characterised by an offer of temporary exhibitions that is seen as being abundant and as going beyond what is normally found in museums to involve new areas of interest (especially those concerned with the everyday: the street, stations, gardens, etc.), the Ministry of Culture and Communication, together with a few large museums and sites where temporary exhibitions are held, wished to obtain a more precise grasp of what an exhibition really is, with the aim of understanding the ways in which it might develop and its internal dynamics.
